Just as there are notorious criminals, there are also good and intelligent police officers who take their job in their hands, and are ready to sacrifice whatever it takes to get things done in the line of duty. No doubt, some of them have lost their lives in the cause of discharging their duty, while some have done amazingly well, and have inturn earned more stars than their colleagues who have a cold-like attitude towards their job. One of the numerous intelligent officers who have sacrificed greatly for his country is Detective Gbadegesin. Although, people call him, "Gbade" more than they call him (Gbadegesin), and to a large extent, his name spoke for him on several occasions where he was promoted and awarded. It is not gainsaying to say that Gbade lost more than he gained in the police force. On two different occasions, he was shot in the line of duty, and the most severe one was when he was shot in his right ear, which was very close to his right eye. He battled for his life in the hospital for 3 good months, before he won the battle for his life. The bullet injury caused a scar on his face, and deformed his right eye. When Gbade came back from the hospital, people were certain that his resignation letter would follow the mini-welcome back party organized by his station. Instead of Gbade's resignation letter, he requested for updates and files about the criminals that almost took his life. The DPO was skeptical at first to hand over the files to him, but when he persisted, the DPO was forced to hand over the case to him. Aside the fact that he was injured in the line of duty, Gbade was also the best hands the DPO had, and the DPO was not so much surprised when Gbade was able to lock three of the criminals behind bars after two months.
When it comes to crime cases, everybody in Arewa police station knew that Gbade was the best Detective among the few Detectives they had, and even the DPO could not dispute that fact. This was why he did not wait a second before handing over the case of the student that was killed in Kijipa Market to Detective Gbade. "Gbade, I will like you to handle this case the best way you can." The DPO said in his office, while Gbade sat before him, looking like an innocent fellow who can not even move a brick. "From the autopsy we got, it is clear that it was not the car accident that killed that young man, because the doctor said they found a long iron somewhere under his right arm." The DPO added. "Really?" Gbade exclamated. "Yes." The DPO replied. "And you know where the trouble is, the boy is one of the bright students of the school, and this has inturn raised many eyebrows" The DPO added. "I know you will do this job the way I want, and let me know when you need anything whatsoever." A said, handing over the case file to Gbade.
:::::::::::::::LADE:::::::::::::
I could not believe my ears the first time Chike said what we are to do. "I don't understand" I said, eventhough I understood him perfectly, but I was too shocked to comprehend him. He moved closer to me and explained the deal again. "There is a rich woman that died in Ogbomosho" He started his explanation all over again. "The rich woman had instructed her family members to bury her with all her golds and jewelries, and from all indications, the family members are ready to grant the dead woman's wish" He continued. At that point, I was lost in thoughts. I couldn't hear anything he was saying anymore. The only thing I was sure of was that his mouth was moving, and it was moving very fast. "So, that is the deal" was the next thing I heard from him after my mind travelled back from where it went to. "So, Chike want us to exhume the dead woman and get the golds and jewelries?" I asked myself as if Chike had not spelt it out well enough. "The woman would be buried tomorrow." He said. "Tomorrow?" I asked him, because I was shocked about the short notice. "Was he not supposed to give me enough time to think about the deal?" I asked myself. "How many dead bodies has Chike exhumed?" I asked myself again. I was still asking and answering questions in my heart when he interrupted my thoughts with his question. "So, are you in?" If my heart was with my brain, and my mind had not moved away from where it's supposed to be, I'm very sure my mouth would not have acted in isolation to conclude for me without asking me what my decision about the deal would be. "Yes. I'm in" My mouth said, without my consent.

While, Chike and Lade have also signed a deal on how to make more money by exhuming a rich woman's grave.
