One of the most difficult impromptu work for any man on earth is consoling people. It is so difficult and unpredictable because you never can tell when the person in question would stop crying. Ajibike Oreoluwa, an SS2 student from ECWA Model College, Ibadan, could not help but burst into tears when she was announced as the over-all winner of the just concluded WHO AM I? 2015 Inter-Secondary School Essay Competition. It took her some couple of minutes before she could recover from the joyful tears that found their way out of her eyes as she read out her winning essay to the listening ears of her fellow students, teachers and other distinguished guests that graced the award ceremony. The award ceremony that marked the very first edition of project WHO AM I? which was hosted by Là Peak Network Initiative, had the hall filled to the brim as students from various schools in Ibadan found their way to Tribune's event centre in Ibadan. It was recorded that the competition witnessed the participation of various schools in Ibadan, and this year's edition focused on the Social Media with the topic, "Students and the Social Media: The Positivity". During her welcome speech, the pioneer of the initiative, Adefolake Adeniyi, elaborated on the aims and objectives of the project, which include, creating a world of opportunities for the youths, helping youths to discover their talents and potentials, among others.
The award ceremony also witnessed the presentation of Awards of Recognition to two outstanding personalities in the society, whose lives have been nothing but an inspiration to the youths around them. It was also spiced up with an Inter-School Spelling Bee Competition, while the climax of the ceremony was the award and prize presentation where Diekola Ismail of Kambridge Comprehensive College and Osibowale Kehinde Opeyemi of Ibadan Grammar School emerged the 3rd position in the private and public school category respectively. Ajibike's teacher, Mr. Christopher Igeadubi, did not go home empty-handed, as he was awarded with Best Teacher Award. With less than a week to the end of the first edition of the competition, the organization, as we speak, is already putting everything in place for the second edition of the competition which would come up soon.
