Ariike(Episode 2)

Ilumoka and Olomoyoyo village had been passing through series of hardships and disorderliness for a period of time, and the two villages had co-incidentally consulted the same reknowned Chief priest on the issue affecting their villages. Agbakin was the reknowned chief priest that was consulted by the two villages. He lived in a nearby bush between the two villages, and rumour had it that he was so powerful that he single-handedly drove away all the witches in Kajola village. He was so powerful that people believed he could even stop a snail from saliavating. He consulted for Olomoyoyo village first, and he told them they would need to travel to the Forest-of-no-Return to pluck 7 leaves from Atura tree which was located right in the heart of the forest. It is these leaves he would dip into water and use to sprinkle the entire village. Amazingly, when he consulted for Ilumoka village, the oracle had required similar thing from them too, but the difference was that, Olomoyoyo village was to send 7 virgins while Ilumoka was to send 7 warriors. Agbakin acted as the intermediary between to two villages as he told them that the two parties could go together to get what they needed to make their village peaceful.

Ilumoka had no difficulty in getting seven warriors who would go to the forest. Unlike Olomoyoyo village who did not only need brave girls, but also virgins. The kings made it known that he would handsomely reward the seven girls that decide to go on the journey. This offer made some girls who are not virgins to lie about their virginity, but it was not a difficult thing for the oracle to detect their false virginity. Ariike was one of the seven virgins, eventhough people doubted her virginity at first. This was because rumour had it that she was once raped by Ajani beside Chief Owo plantation. As she was about to cross the palm fronds used to test the girls' virginity, people expected her to fall, just as Awelewa had fallen earlier. But, she did not. Infact, she did not stumble, and that made the people to believe in her personality the more. Although, Ajani had tried to rape her that very day, but, she had grapped his manhood and twisted it before running away with half of her clothes at the scene, leaving Ajani in pains. Ajani on the otherhand had tried to avoid the embarrassment of what happened, and had inturn told his friends that he had raped Ariike. Sooner or later, the news spread round the village, and Ariike became a no-go-area for guys. The two parties gathered at the exit of the villages which also happened to be the entrance of the forest. With parting words and supplications from their family and well-wishers, the two parties left together on an adventure to redeem their villages, and only time would tell before they become sworn enemies.

What could have come between the two parties? Why would Ilumoka warriors be after Ariike even after they left for the mission together? Will they kill her if they catch up with her?
