20 minutes was like eternity as far as Dami was concerned. She didn't know what to do. She didn't plan or envisaged that her day would go in that direction at all. "Should I call Jude?" She asked herself. The One's warning came to her mind and fear went down her spines. She considered texting Jude instead, to tell him about what was happening. "After all, he won't know I texted anybody" She thought. But then, she started thinking of how to compose the text. She felt it would be good for the message to be well-coded, but simple enough for Jude to understand. She considered "Fire on the Mountain". After typing it on her phone, she was still considering if The One would not find out about the text she was about to send when she remembered that Jude might not understand what she was trying to say. Jude might simply think she was talking about one of Asa's songs which Jude loved so much. She deleted the message, after which she changed it to, "there is fire on the mountain". She was about sending that also when she realized that such a message would be so alarming, The One would definitely expect her to dare him by getting in touch with her husband, despite his warning. She deleted that message too, and she resorted to sobbing. While sobbing, a thought crossed her mind. "Instead of sending the message to Jude, why don't I post it on my Facebook wall?" She thought. It appeared to her like the best idea, "after all, I have over 2,000 friends, and not everybody would think I'm talking about Asa's song" She concluded. She quickly picked her phone, and opened a browser. In a jiffy, Facebook was already asking her "what's on your mind?". She quickly typed, "there is fire on the mountain", and posted it. She felt relieved to an extent, and she was hopeful that the post would somehow send help to her.
She was carried away by those activities that she didn't know it was already 20 minutes, or maybe it was not up to 20 minutes before The One called back. This time around, with the same number. Dami rushed to the phone to pick the call, in her process of rushing, she mistakenly pressed the red button, thereby, ending the call. "No no no no..." She exclamated, unsure of how The One would interpret her action. The call came in again. Although, she still rushed to pick the call, but, she made sure she was careful enough not to press the red button again. "I'm very sorry sir. It was not deliberate. It was a mistake. I'm sorry sir." She said after she picked the call. "Have you even wondered who I am?" The One asked. "No..yes...no...yes" Dami stammared, unsure of which would mean negative. "It's OK." The One said. "I am someone you know just the way you know money." The One added. "Hmmmmm...." Dami wanted to ask a question, but the words did not come out. "Well, back to business" The One said. "Do you want me to release your children?" The One asked. "Yes. Yes. Yes." She replied. "OK. I'll see now if you truly want me to release your children" The One said. "Now, I need you to start confessing all your top secrets that even your husband does not know about. Starting from the biggest." The One said, before keeping quiet. Dami heard what he said, but could not understand. "Secret as...as...as...how?" She asked, stammering. "See, I will not say it again. Start confessing your crimes from the biggest" The One repeated with a very harsh tone. "I can see you don't want me to release your children" The One said. "No..no...no. I will confess." She said. Almost immediately, another voice spoke from the other end of the phone. "Mummy, please get us out of here." Taye's voice screamed into her ears. "Taye...Taye...Taye" Dami called out. "Does that voice sound familiar?" The One asked. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I will do anything you want me to do. Just don't hurt my children." Dami begged, with tears flowing down her cheeks. "Then, start confessing" The One shouted. "Hmmmmm...." Dami started. "I stole my husband's #50,000, and I lied that I was robbed." Dami confessed. "Is that the biggest? Or do you think I don't know you?" The One corrected her. "Hmmmm..I cheated on my husband when he traveled for 2 months last year." She continued, as tears filled her eyes. "It was with one of our neighbours who lives opposite our house" She added, crying heavily. "But, he is a bachelor." She quickly added to justify her actions. "Well, I don't believe that is your top secret." The One said. "Anyway, let's take this to another level" He added. "I'm sorry. Please forgive me." Dami pleaded. "I discovered you posted on your Facebook wall 6 minutes ago that there is fire on the mountain." The One said. "Well, before you reply the comments you now have on that post, I want you to post the secrets you just told me on your Facebook wall. Use the heading 'my top secret', and you have only 5 minutes to do that, unless..." The One instructed as the phone went dead once again.
