It took some minutes of silence before the atmosphere died down. Olori was the first to pierce the silence with her words. "Is there anybody who has any other thing to say?" She asked. The atmosphere was still calm, except for the murmuring coming from the angle where the woman whose son was just killed was taken to. "As you all know, today marks my 10th year of being on this throne." She started again. "And as you all know, I will step down today, while either my 2nd in command or my 3rd in command will take my position." She added with a big smile. "While any of you will fill the vacant positions" She added as she let out a very scary laughter. "Incase you have forgotten, to fill my position, the person who is able to present the more bitter tears would have my spot, while the other person would be stripped of her position." She added again with a more scary laughter. "Are you both ready with your bitter tears?" She asked, facing the two contenders for her position. They both gave each other a jealous look before nodding as a response to the question. Olori acted as if she didn't notice them. She understood their feelings and anxiety. If not for anything, atleast, she was once in their shoes. 10 years to her seemed like yesterday, and she could not help but cast her mind back to how she emerged the Olori 10 years ago. Her competitor was Ejigbo who happened to be the 2nd in command to the then Olori, while she was the 3rd in command. As was the usual practice, Esu (devil) was invoked to drink the bitter tears of the two competitors, and tell which was more bitter. At the end of it all, Esu attested that Ejigbo's tears were not in anyway bitter. She was demoted to the position of District Coordinator while her opponent was sworn in as the new Olori. As for her tears, she got them through the pain and agony she made a family pass through, and their tears filled her calabash. The family suffered earnestly before giving birth, and after 6 years of marriage, they were blessed with a child which was their only child. Through pains and gains, they saw this child through primary, secondary and even university. They even did all their best to support him during his youth service. It was while returning home from youth service that he slipped on their staircase, and the rest of the story was enough for his parents to weep bitterly.
"Before we invoke Esu to drink the bitter tears of the two contenders, is there anybody here that has a scape goat she wants us to deal with?" Olori asked. Just as if that was the very moment Asake was waiting for all the while, she raised her hand almost immediately. "OK. Let's hear you." Olori said, pointing to Asake. "Yeye oooo.... " Asake greeted, bowing her head. "My name is Asake, and I'm from Iremofe district. " She started. "Olori, there is a man I want you to help me punish. He is the head of a particular company where I went for a job interview. After the interview, this man called me aside to assure me of the job if I could sleep with him." She was interrupted by Ejigbo who said, "Really?" Asake replied Ejigbo with a nod as she continued her narration. "Olori, I was the one who paid for the hotel bills, and this man came, had sex with me, and still didn't give me the job." She concluded. "Hmmmmmmm..... " Ejigbo commented again. "So, what exactly do you want us to do for you?" Olori asked. "Olori..." Asake began again. "When I later went to confront him in his office the following week, he drove me out of his office, and told me to do my worst. But, since then, my District Coordinator has helped me withdraw his manhood from him. But today, I want to really do my worst." She explained. "Asake, what exactly do you want us to do." Olori asked again. "Olori, I want us to eat his manhood here and now. Abi, am I too wicked?" She asked, facing others, and they replied her with a very loud laughter. "What is the name of the man?" Olori asked. "Olori, his name is Akande." She replied. At the mention of "Akande", Ejigbo's ears sprang up with great speed. "What did you call his name?" Ejigbo asked, facing Asake. "Akande" Asake replied. "No. No. No. Olori. You can't eat his manhood." Ejigbo said, facing Olori.

Hmmmmm.... personally, I don't know what to say. But, I'm sure the story is speaking for itself. My prayer is that may we not be killed or put in agony in other for the evil ones to gain promotion. Akande is about to get rewarded for his actions, but, who and why is Ejigbo soliciting for him? What could Akande have done for an old witch to make her stand up for him like that? Well, the answers are in the next episodes which you don't want to miss. The story remains BLOOD OF AN HE-GOAT.
