Before the acceptance of annual vows and pledges, new members were recognized. The newest member was a 4 year old girl who was initiated by her grandmother when she visited them in Lagos from the village. She had carefully planned the whole thing, and her plans were made easier with her parents' attitude who left home very early to come back late at night. The three days visit was enough for the grandmother to induct the small girl into their cult, and also make her attend one of their meetings in their district. A little bite from a well fried Akara spiced with adequate witchcraft flavour from the coven was enough to induct the girl. "You are now an elder." Grandma told her, after she ate up the 3 pieces of Akara. "I will invite you later to a meeting." She told her. The journey to the venue of the meeting later that night was a rocky one because grandma had to share her broom with the young girl. "Next time, you will fly with your own broom." Grandma assured. The little girl nodded with half a smile from her mouth. The next meeting day was the annual general meeting where she flew with her own broom to the venue as promised. She was well received, and because she was the youngest of them all, she was named, "kekere" (smallie). That same day, Osagbemi was also introduced as a new member. Her district coordinator was the very person who brought her in. Her own story was quite the opposite of the 4-year old girl because she willing joined the cult. She was in her early 30s and never did a guy come around her to seek for her hand in marriage. It gave her so much sleepless nights, and she had visited different places in search for solution, but to no avail, until she met Ejigbo, an old woman, in the market one evening. It was just a matter of time before they both engaged in a lengthy conversation which showed how desperate Osagbemi was. "I will introduce you to the Mothers of this Earth" Ejigbo said. "If you are willing." She added. "Mama, I am willing. I will do anything." Osagbemi said, sounding more desperate.
Soon after the newbies were welcomed, it was time for vows to be redeemed. The year before, a lot of people vowed to give this or that if their wish was granted, and they had to fulfill their vows or face the wrath of Olori. Adabi was the first woman to come forward. She praised and appreciated Olori and all other members for how they took tears away from her eyes. She had searched for a child all her life, but had not conceived in years. When she joined the dynasty, she was assured of her own child before that year runs out. "So, what will you give us if we give you a child?" Her district coordinator asked her then. "I can't think of anything for now, but I will definitely bring something worthwhile to show my appreciation." She replied. In her hands was a small calabash. "If not for you all, my mother-in-law would have thrown me out of my husband's house, and my husband would have married another woman by now." She added. "Here is my husband's two eyes. I brought them as a token of my gratitude." She said as she dropped the calabash before Olori's feet. Heinous laughter took over the atmosphere for a while before Olori calmed everybody with her left hand. After all the people who needed to fulfill their vows came up, it was time for awards and commendations. A particular woman who promised to give her second child as an offering, if her first child was able to graduate from the university. Before the first child could graduate from the university, her second child died of a serious illness, leaving the woman with just one child. "I am sorry for not being able to fulfill my vow. My second child died of a terrible illness." She explained. "So, what have you brought instead?" Olori asked. "No... thi...ng." She stammered. Olori became so furious that she got up from her seat. "Why didn't you bring your other son?" Olori asked. The woman looked amazed and shocked. "My only surviving child?" The woman asked herself. Olori became so angry, and she instantly called forth the young man three times, and struck him with her staff. He let out a loud cry, and vanished. The woman broke down crying, and it took about three women to console her. "That would serve as an example for everybody." Olori said as she went back to her seat.
