The drums were big enough to perfectly take a full human being, and the drummers themselves beat the drums with much vigor and energy. The drum sticks were as big as a baseball stick, and one would definitely wonder how such a big stick repeatedly landed on the drum, creating a rhythmic sound, without damaging the drums. From the look of things, the drums were as old as the clay stand on which the drums were perfectly moulded. The lead singer did good justice to various songs as different bodies moved to both the songs and the beat. Their dance steps were accompanied with series of heinous laughter which definitely was attributed to their type of activities. The woman, who seemed to be their leader, sat comfortably on a big chair, which had two human skulls by the two sides. She wore a red attire which had black stripes, and with her left hand, she held a staff which symbolized her authority as the leader. Her footstool was a young man who was chained to her chair. The young man stared at the air as if trying to observe every air around him. At rhythmic interval, blood dropped from his bleeding head into a very big calabash which was big enough to accommodate all the blood in his body. Olori, as the leader was called, shook her legs to the rhythm of the song and beat, thereby shaking the young man vigorously.
At Olori's right hand was a very slim woman who one would find it hard to believe she had blood left in her body. She was so tiny and skinny that the big chair on which she sat was nothing but a mockery on her. But, it was not seen that way because her stature did not really matter. What mattered was the position she occupied which was the office of the second in command, and Olofa was her name. To the leader's left hand was yet another woman who occupied the position of the third in command. Her chair was the smallest of the three chairs, but the smile on her face clearly revealed her joy and satisfaction in the position.
Soon enough, the songs and beats came to a stop, and Olori rose up to address the gathering. "Mo ki yin ooooooo (I welcome you.)" She said with a big smile on her face. It was the annual women gathering, and all the regional and state coordinators were present. It was just a matter of time before everybody started redeeming their yearly vows and pledges.
