THE TORTOISE AND THE HARE (Part One)

Everybody knew the tortoise was a very clever animal, but as for the fastest, nobody every contested with the hare. He was simply known as the fastest animal in the animal kingdom. He had won so many competitions that nobody simply bothered to challenge him. He won the short distance race, as well as the long distance race. As for the long distance race, he would sometimes allow his competitors to run ahead of him before dashing passed them in a jiffy. Then, one day, the tortoise challenged the hare to a long distance race. "I can defeat the hare" He bragged to his friends. The hare was reluctant in accepting tortoise' challenge, but when it was turning to an insult, he accepted. "I don't want to disgrace my friend." The hare said. "My friend knows I will defeat him, that is why he doesn't want to accept my challenge." The tortoise bragged all along. A day was fixed for the race, and everybody looked out for the race. It was the talk of the entire kingdom, because everybody knew the hare was fast, but, they just wasn't sure of what new trick the tortoise might bring up.

The arena was filled on the said day. Some animals stayed at the start line because they just could not afford to miss how the tortoise would start the race. Some positioned themselves half way because they believed the tortoise would use whatever trick it has in mind at the middle of the race. Some simply stayed at the finish line because they could not afford to miss the end of the race. In no time, the two friends came around for the race. The hare was so serious with it that he could hardly wait to start the race, so also, the tortoise, who was dressed in a perfect sport outfit. "get set !" The elephant who was the referee announced. "puuoooo…" the elephant blew his trumpet. With that the race started. The hare set out with full speed, while the tortoise dragged itself along like a piece of heavy bag. Before the tortoise could crawl away from the start line, the hare was already at the finish line.

Do you think that is the end of the story? NO.
Let's meet again tomorrow as we continue the story.

HAPPY THURSDAY   !!!
