"Baba, tell me now. Why then am I not rich?" Gbenro inquired again. Baba hesitated a little. "Baba, who is responsible for my poverty. Let me know." Gbenro demanded again. "My son, nobody is responsible for your poverty." Baba started. "We would be exactly what was destined for us. But, many of us are running faster than our destiny" Baba said. "Baba, I don't understand your parable. Please, speak plainly to me." Gbenro said impatiently. "My son, this my mouth, if I use it to bite kolanut for you, don't eat it. But, if I use it to talk to you, accept my words." Baba said again in parable. Gbenro was getting a little impatient about the whole thing. "If I tell you the truth, will you accept it?" Baba asked. "Yes. I will." Gbenro answered, now calming down. "Gbenro, as I said earlier, nobody is responsible for your poverty. It is not man, and it is not spirit." Baba started to explain. "You were simply destined to be poor for a while before you will become rich, and from what I am seeing, you are just a step away from wealth." Baba explained to him. "My son, a little more patience. A little more patience." Baba emphasized. Gbenro was not moved at all by Baba's words, from the look on his face, it was obvious that his mind was made up. "Baba, I want to do money ritual." He said, as if all what Baba said was not meant for him. "Are you sure that is what you want?" Baba asked. "Baba, yes." He replied. "But, very soon...." Baba tried to explain, but Gbenro interrupted him. "That is what I want Baba." He said.
Just as agreed, Gbenro was the first to get to Baba's place the following morning. "I will prepare some charms for you, and you will be here in my place all through the day, and at night, you will go to a cemetery and sleep on one of the graves till dawn." Baba, explained to him the previous day. At first, Gbenro was scared. But, in no time, he said, "no problem Baba, I will do it." The herbs and charms were prepared as Gbenro stayed in Baba's house all through the day. At night, Baba woke him up. "It is time." Baba said. Baba gave him everything and told him the instructions too. "Are you sure you want to do this?" Baba asked Gbenro again. Gbenro replied with a nod. "Remember I told you that your destiny might not support money ritual." Baba advised him again. "Baba, don't worry. My head will not fail me." He said, as he touched his head.
Earlier that afternoon, Ireti was in the market to get some food items. Her father had warned her seriously against going out alone. But, that day, she wanted to feel the freedom of having to do things herself. "How much is this meat?" Ireti asked a meatseller. "Aunty, na #5,000, and I no charge you at all." The meatseller tried to convince her. "Cut it." Ireti said. "How many?" The meatseller questioned. Ireti was staring at the meatseller without blinking. "Aunty, na how many make I cut?" She questioned again. She was almost done cutting the first one. But, all of a sudden, Ireti screamed, and fell down. The market was thrown in totally confusion and everybody gave Ireti an Ebola distance. Nobody moved near her, they only peeped from their different stalls. Even the meatseller ran to the next stall to avoid any form of implication. Ireti was on the ground for some minutes as buying and selling came to a halt in the market. A man wanted to help her, but his wife drew him back. In no time, Ireti woke up. She dusted her body, and ran out of the market with tears following each other on her cheeks. She didn't go back to school, but headed home straight. She met her parents with tears as she questioned them on why God decided to punish her with such a disgraceful thing. "Is it my sins or your sins?" She questioned. Her mother consoled her till she slept off on her laps. Mr. Henry could not bear it anymore. So, later that evening, he visited a prophet he was told about sometime ago with his wife. After narrating all that was happening, "let us pray." The prophet said. The prophet brought the prayer to a halt half way. "Sit down." He told them. "What exactly did you say she sees when she screams?" The prophet asked. "We don't know. She doesn't say it. She finds it hard to explain." Mrs. Henry said. "Beloved, I have only one question for you, and if you are honest in your answer, there is hope for your daughter." The prophet said. "What is the question? We would tell you the truth sir." Mr. Henry replied. "How did you give birth to your daughter?" The prophet asked. "Give birth? " "Our daughter?" They both said at the same time as they looked at each other.
