=====SHADOWS OF LOVE (The Conclusion)====
Chief Arowolo does not need a soothsayer to tell him what the verdict of the Baale would be, epsecially when Mama Risika had said all she knew and even what she knows nothing about aswell. Chief Arowolo could not withstand the whole thing, as his heart burnt with guilt. He looked in the opposite direction, and Agbegbemi was comfortablly sitting on a chair with a lady beside him. "Baale, I want to say something." Chief Arowolo jumped up to say. The Baale was suprised, but he eventually gave Chief Arowolo the opportunity to speak. "Good people of Kijipa village" He started. Chief Arowolo narrated the story behind how he planned with Agbegbemi to kill Ayandele, so that he would eventually marry his daughter. The whole villagers could not believe their ears. Awelewa herself could not believe that her father could do such to her. Agbegbemi felt so uncomfortable where he sat. He wished that the earth could open up for him to hide, but, to his amazement, when he looked beside him he realized that his mistress had ran away. How and when she left, Agbegbemi could not understand. After Chief Arowolo narrated the whole story, Baale asked Agbegbemi if the story was true, "It's the devil's handwork" He said, stammering. The villagers gave a very disapproving shout, and it took the Baale some minutes to restore sience to the gathering. Baale then called on Baba who Agbegbemi said he contracted to sell poisonous herbs to Ayandele, in place of the herbs needed for his recovery.
The Baba was also sitting somewhere admist the crowd, and with the help of his walking stick, he found his way to the center of the gathering. "Good people of Kijipa village, I greet you." He said with an elderly voice, but nobody answered him. "Yes. It is true that Agbegbemi came to me to help him sell poisonous herbs to Ayandele, because as you all know, I am the only person who sells herbs in the entire village." The old man continued. As he was speaking, his legs began to shake because he had stood for so long. One of the youths standing at the front, beckoned on his fellow youth to give his chair to the old man, but he refused, and that brought a little misunderstanding amist them, thereby disturbing the entire gathering. It was later resolved as another youth gave his chair to the old man to sit on. "I as a person, I do not harm people. Neither do I use my knowledge of herbs to outwit others. But, when Agbegbemi came to me..." the old man continued. "He looked so desperate, and I was certain that if I tell him I can not do it, he would definately find another means of killing the young man, no matter the advice I give to him." The old man coughed for a while before he continued again. "Ayandele came to me later that day, and I sat him down to tell him of the attack on his life. He was shocked. But, I calmed him down, and then, I told him of my plans. We both agreed that he would take a sleeping herb which would make him look half dead for a couple of hours." Baba explained to the crowd how Ayandele was uncomfortable with the plan. How he feared he might truly die. "Ayandele was later brought to my house about an hour after he was pronounced dead, and it was there he woke up." Baba said. "I have sent people to call Ayandele, and in a matter of minutes, he would join us here. As for Mama Risika, maybe you would then explain to us a new version of how you saw Awelewa strangling Ayandele to death" Baba said, facing Mama Risika. Mama Risika buried her head in shame as she tried to mutter some words. In no time, Ayandele appeared with two of Baba's boys. The whole crowd cheered and shouted, as some went to embrace him. Awelewa was already untied, and she ran towards Ayandele to give him a very warm hug. "Where then is the money I paid you?" Agbegbemi shouted at the top of his voice, facing Baba. Ayandele walked up to him and said with all seriousness. "Baba gave me the whole money, and I would be using it to buy new musical instruments for my band."
The Baale cleared his throat, as he stood at the center of the gathering. "My people, we have seen a lot today. And not only have we seen a lot, we have also learnt a lot aswell." A little child chukled as if agreeing with what the Baale just said. "Chief Arowolo, I am sure you have learnt your lessons today that not all that glitter is gold. As for Agbegbemi..." Baale continued. "I would have said he should be beheaded for the crime he tried to commited because if not for Baba, Aya dele would have died, and Awelewa would have died also for a crime she did not commit. But considering his father's remarkable contribution to this village, I would temper justice with mercy." The Baale walked towards Agbegbemi. "You are hereby banished from Kijipa village, and all your possessions are hereby given to Ayandele." The gathering was finally disolved with people cheering and carrying Ayandele on their shoulders with his band members doing justice to good music. The following moonlight was Ayandele and Awelewa's wedding ceremony, and Chief Arowolo did not collect a penny from Ayandele as Bride Price.
