TEARS FROM A PILLOW (The final episode)

"Hey ! Look at you." Adaobi said with a big smile on her face. "You've grown super-fatter." Lizzy said as she stood staring at Adaobi. In her usual manner, Adaobi turned for Lizzy to check her out better. "You can never change." Lizzy said as she clapped her hands. "Well, only one thing has changed about me - Salvation." The two friends hugged and embraced each other, and after it all, they exchanged contacts. The following week, Adaobi visited Lizzy in her apartment with her son, Junior. "You mean you stay here all alone?" Adaobi asked Lizzy while sipping a bottle of Soft drink. Lizzy could not understand why, but she found herself telling Adaobi about the oath she took with Tade and everything she had been passing through. "I know so well that it is the oath that is causing my misfortune." Lizzy finally added. Adaobi kept quite for a while, before she said, "I strongly believe you need Christ." "He is the only one who can break every covenant you might have entered during your days of ignorance." Adaobi added. "Junior, don't touch that !" She cautioned Junior, as Junior was trying to play with the flower vase on the table. Lizzy reminded Adaobi of the level of covenant she had entered with Tade. "Adaobi, it's a blood covenant, and not just a blood covenant, Tade is already dead." She told Adaobi with a sorry look. "I know. You told me that earlier." Adaobi replied. "No matter the covenant you might have entered into during your time of ignorance, the blood of Jesus can still speak for you." Adaobi said convincingly. In a matter of minutes, Lizzy decided to give her life to Christ, and Adaobi led her to Christ. Before Adaobi left her house, she explained the basic things Lizzy needed to know about her new faith. "Christianity is not a religion. It's a way of life." She said as she said goodbye.

The next Sunday, Lizzy was one of the first to get to her church which she hardly attended because she was always attending different prayer sessions in different churches. That very Sunday looked very different from all the other Sundays, and she was shocked to her bones and marrows when the pastor decided to talk about deliverance. The pastor had made it clear that when one gives his/her life to Christ, he/she stands a chance of overcoming any form of family curse or covenant. "Whosoever the Son of man has set free, he is free indeed." The pastor said. An unfamilar courage and convinction came upon Lizzy. She was smiling and shining radiantly as she left for her apartment after the service. That same night, she had a dream where she saw an old man who was standing by her all the while. The old man was looking haggard and dirty. After some minutes, the old man looked at her, hissed, carried his bag and walked away. At that point, she saw herself leaving the uncompleted building where she had always been with the old man and walking towards a big mansion opposite the uncompleted building. She woke up when her alarm rang and 5am, and an unexplained peace came upon her. It was one of her best mornings in years. She got ready for work, and as she stepped into the compound. The gateman was the first person to say, "Madam, you fine today oooo." She looked back to be sure the gateman was talking to her. On getting to her office, Jide could not help looking at her. "Wow ! You are looking beautiful today." Jide said with amazement. "Thanks for the compliment." She said with a smile. As she looked back to see if Jide was still looking at her, their eyes met each other. "you'll see more of that from now on." She said to herself as she stepped into her office with a big smile on her face.
