DEATH, BE NOT PROUD FOR TAKING PROF. IYAYI

DEATH, BE NOT PROUD FOR TAKING PROF. IYAYI

Heavy is my heart, just as mixed are my feelings. In my heart ranges anger and "revenge", while at the same time, hopelessness in the mist of pain comforts my uncomfortable heart. Yes! I said anger and "revenge". I'm at range with that careless driver who ran into ASUU's bus; the Federal Government who refused to repair the death traps we call roads...NONSENSE!!!

If at all a redeemer is needed to appease the gods in the as-so-called Rock, must it be among the literary scholars again. Could they have forgotten they took Chinua away many months ago??? Or could amnesia have deteriorated their memory to know that Kofi's blood still stain the hands of the terrorists? Oh!!! They couldn't have forgotten. No. They just want to return more men to the goddess of Muse. Anger and "revenge" burns in my heart once again...NONSENSE.

My unanswered question has been, did he die smiling? Or did he die shaking his head for how the country he served so well has terminated his appointment on earth at the time when the applaud was high and loud? Can I get some answers? Answers about how he breathed his last. Answers about his plans and visions for we the upcoming literary scholars. And again, my heart burns with anger and "revenge"...NONSENSE.

And you death, be not proud, for the "avenger" would soon show up to put an end to this your excessive pride and arrogance. Iyayi, when you get there, drink with them the water they drink, eat with them the food they eat, but, don't forget us the way they did.

R. I. P. Iyayi
