"Excuse me please" Chuks said with all humility and gentleness as possible, after he waited for about 2 minutes at a place close to the toilet where he was sure he would intercept Amaka on her way out of the toilet. Amaka looked at him scornfully, but only gave her attention because of the way Chuks was dressed. "I'm sorry to disturb you. I only wanted to commend you for that wonderful rendition." Chuks said, smiling slightly. "Thank you." Amaka replied in a way that showed she was not moved by the comment. She was used to hearing words like that from guys almost every time she leads special number. Some were always church members, while some were just newcomers. But, whichever category Chuks fall into, Amaka was not moved at all. Some use words like, "powerful", "excellent", "amazing", "superb", among others, to describe the choir ministrations, and Chuks made it worse by using a very common adjective to qualify the ministration. "Does it mean you guys don't like using Talking Drum here?" Chuks asked. Amaka gave her a blank look that showed she did not have an answer to something. Not that she did not have an answer to his question, but she did not have an answer to her very own question. She was not sure why the young man before her suddenly changed the topic. All the guys that came around her for the first time asked for her number almost immediately they said 'Hello', and those that did not follow that procedure asked silly questions instead. Only very few could keep up a good conversation with her without asking for her number. "Pardon me for asking. I don't mean to intrude in the church's affair" Chuks said, almost immediately he discovered the look on her face. "Oh! No problem with that. It's allowed" Amaka replied. "We actually use Talking Drum, but we don't have anybody that can play it." Amaka added. "Infact, we have two Talking Drums in the store, but nobody to play it" She said again, raising a little smile from the left side of her mouth. "Oh! I see." Chuks said, as if he just made a world-class discovery. "That is just what I want to know." Chuks said, as he turned to go back to the church. Amaka was surprised. She barely met guys that didn't ask for her number, and even the few that did not ask for her number, they initially asked for her name. But, Amaka was amazed that Chuks was leaving. "Won't he ask for my name number?" She asked herself. She was not used to being on that side of the conversation. She was used to being chased. Chuks also did not mean to leave. It was all an act to make Amaka think he was not interested in her. "God, make this girl call me back oooooo..." He prayed silently. He knew the plan would be unfruitful if Amaka did not call him back to ask for anything or say something. "Do you know anybody that plays Talking Drum?" Amaka asked, speaking up a little to make him hear her. "Are you talking to me?" Chuks said, looking back, and trying to act as if he was not happy that his prayer was answered. "Yes." Amaka said, as she nodded at the same time. She repeated herself, as she walked towards him. "Hmmmmmm....actually, I play Talking Drum" Chuks said, trying to form a humble guy. "Really?" Amaka asked, as her interest in Chuks increased by few percent. "You won't believe we have been trying to get a drummer all this while. Most of those that come around are very unstable." Amaka explained. Chuks kept quiet as he smiled often. Everything was going as planned. "The Choir Director has even given me the responsibility to get a drummer before our Youth Convention" She said. All the while, Chuks kept quite, and only nodded his head at interval. "Can I have your number?" Amaka added. Chuks felt like screaming and jumping. His plan just got to the final stage, and it worked without stress. In his heart of heart he was so glad. "Sure." He replied. He dictated his number after Amaka brought out her phone from her pocket. In few seconds, his phone rang. "That's me calling" Amaka said. "OK." Chuks replied, as he brought out his phone from his pocket too. "My name is Chuks" He said, trying to make her know his name. "What should I save your number with?" Chuks asked, as if he was not indirectly asking her of her name. "Are you indirectly asking me of my name?" Amaka said, smiling. "Oh! Not at all." Chuks lied. "Hmmmmm....if that is the case, save my number with Assistant Choir Director" Amaka said, smiling heavily. "OK. I agree I want to know the name of the beautiful princess before me." Chuks confessed, smiling too. "Well, save it with Amaka" She said as she walked away. "Is that your name?" Chuks asked. Amaka looked back with smile full on her face. "What else could it be?" She replied, as she entered the auditorium. "Amaka!" Chuks said to himself, counting his blessings.

Someone said the title of the story is getting clearer. Is that so with you too? Well, if the title is not clear yet, don't worry, you would understand it soon. But, don't forget that THEY ARE AMONG US. I'll come your way again with the next episode. Takie
One thing about "them" is that, when they are among us, we may not easily identify them because they will do what we do, eat what we eat, and go to where we also go to. But, no matter how hard they try, they will always be different from us. But then, if we still look well, you will see that they are among us. Do you know what? The person beside you right now could be one of them. How about you asking the person, "are you one of them?" Lolzzzz.....I'll come your way again with the next episode.
