::::The Narrator::::::
"Betray you as how?" Lade asked, looking so perplexed. "Don't just give me that sorry face at all." Chike snapped back at her. "Abi, you think say I no see you and Scorpio together this morning before we comot for town?" He asked, rhetorically. "Scorpio?" Lade asked, getting confused. "Oh! You mean T.J?" Lade asked again. "Na una dey call am T.J. Na Scorpio we dey call am." Chike snapped back again. "Chike, it's not what you think at all." Lade tried to explain. "It's not what I think abi? It's not what I think?" Chike asked again. "So, wetin he come be ooooo?" Chike shouted at her. "I and T.J were just... were just... planning on how... how to... " Lade stammered. "How to what?" Chike interrupted her. "See, no need make you even bother explain anything sef. Na today your eyes go see wetin traitors dey see" He added. "Go down on your kneels and say your last prayer." Chike commanded, moving closer to Lade. Lade kept apologizing as she obediently went on her kneels.
"Hands up!" Detective Gbade's voice cut through the dark night. "Chike, drop your weapon." He commanded, as he slowly moved closer to Chike. Three policemen were also at the scene fully armed with both guns and ammunition. On their bulletproof jacket was boldly written, SARS, which largely showed they belonged to the Special Anti Robbery Squad. Chike could not believe his eyes. He was so caught unaware, and didn't see the whole thing coming at all. He looked at Lade and could not help but ask, "is this how you want to pay me back? Is this your plan". Lade, still on bent kneels maintained eye contact with Chike as a proof of her innocence. She was no longer scared of the dangers the night might have for her, but her fears were for the gun pointed at her by Chike, and the fact that the police had surrounded them. She did not know if she should be grateful to God that the police came to her rescue, or if she should hate the fact that the police caught them right in the act. But, In it all, her innocent mind gave her a good level of boldness to face Chike . "Chike, I did not betray you. I swear ! I know nothing about this whole thing." She explained. "I say drop your weapon" Detective Gbade commanded again. In the middle of things, two policemen brought a guy to the scene, who was well handcuffed. "Chike, game don over oooo. Kasala don gas oooo." The guy said, facing Chike. "Scorpio? Wetin happen?" Chike asked in amazement. "T.J ! What are you doing here?" Lade asked in total awe. "Chike, abeg, leave matter. I dey yan you say kasala don gas, you dey ask me say wetin happen." Scorpio replied almost immediately. "Lade, na so we see am oooo." Scorpio added, facing Lade. "Chike, as you can see, you are surrounded. So, for the last time, drop your weapon." Detective Gbade said again. It was almost immediately after Detective Gbade finished his statement that the sound was heard, and the sound was followed by several other sounds. The first sound was from Chike's gun, and the other sounds that followed were from Detective Gbade's gun, as well as the other policemen.
