PICTURES OF NASELS NATIONAL EXECUTIVE MEETING @ U.I

I think this is the point where I have to introduce myself. But, before I do that, let me introduce the association I represent, and that is the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF STUDENTS OF ENGLISH AND LITERARY STUDIES {NASELS NIGERIA}. This is the national association that brings all schools studying English as a course, and/or that has English and literary studies as a department, under one big umbrella. The motto of this organization is “creativity in development”. Every year, NASELS NIGERIA organizes a conference for all her students, and the conference is called, International Conference of Students of English and Literary Studies {ICOSELS}. This conference is hosted by different schools in different regions in the country, and past hosts include DELSU, UNIBEN, U.I, UNIZIK, ABU ZARIA{not in their respective order}. This association is so organized that at the end of every conference, they conduct their election, and elect a new set of executives that would pilot the affairs of the association.

At the last
conference at UNIZIK, Comr. Fortune Akujuobi, also known as “Obama{of NASELS}”, of ABU ZARIA  received the baton of leadership from Comr. Adejare of U.I{The Premier University}. For the past 3 days, The Premier University has been hosting the executive of this great association, and the following pictures and captions are the events that occurred at the just concluded NASELS NATIONAL EXECUTIVE MEETING. I think this is the point where I have to introduce myself. I am AUSTUS OFMAT NWANNE{Mr. Tackle}, a final year student from Delta State University, and also the SOUTH-SOUTH REGIONAL COORDINATOR for this great association.

It’s Light-out, but some of the delegates are still in the spirit of sportsmanship.

It’s DAY 2, and there is the Vice-President of NASELS NIGERIA from Lagos State University., in person of Comr. Dominic attentively listening to a speaker.

That is PROF. REMI RAJI, the Dean of Faculty of Arts, U.I, and also, the president of Association of Nigerian Authors {ANA} addressing the students at the meeting. He also shared his historical knowledge about great literary icons in Nigeria, and how most of them started at the University of Ibadan. Beside him is the Staff-Adviser, NASELS UI.

That is the National president, presenting to PROF. REMI RAJI a gift, on behalf of NASELS NIGERIA for his immeasurable support for the association.

After several hours, the meeting finally came to an end, and our host decided to give us a treat at the Zoological Garden, U.I. Here, we are at the entrance of the zoological garden.
